Step Out for Women was a fundraiser promoting exercise while raising funds to support future female entrepreneurs in Nepal. Together we walked, ran and biked the distance between Stockholm, Sweden and Lamjung, Nepal between September 1 and November 17, 2020. Every 5 kilometers counted for at least 5 SEK/€0.50/$0.75 per participant.

The fundraiser is over. Let’s see how we did!

The cities and countries we passed through on the way to Lamjung and when. We posted updates on Instagram regularly, too.

BAREILLY, INDIA 2020-11-16

Wow, we reached Bareilly so fast, we almost couldn't keep up! Now we could say we're only a few steps away from Nepal, and Lamjung. With only one day of this fundraiser left, let's see if we can make it... We're nervous and excited!

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN 2020-11-13

The 8th country we're passing through in our journey to Lamjung is Pakistan, and we've just reached its capital Islamabad! We don't have much time left to Step Out For Women, but we're so close to our goal that we can almost smell it...

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN 2020-11-03

We've been progressing quickly lately, and we're already in Kabul, Afghanistan. The next ~500 km are once again sponsored by Facio, who sponsored the very first leg of our journey from Stockholm. This makes each kilometer we move even more valuable!

BUKHARA, UZBEKISTAN 2020-10-21

Bukhara - check! Can you believe we've moved over 4 600 km and raised 10 287 SEK/€995/$1177 as of today? All of this is in support of future female entreprenuers in Nepal. Let's continue this incedible journey together. We only have a little over 3 000 km left.

UZBEKISTAN 2020-10-17

And just like that, we've reached our sixth country. This means we only have three more countries to pass before we reach Nepal. We're moving quickly at the moment, and it's thanks to all our participants powering through and remembering to send us screenshots of their progress. We've already started moving towards our city stop in Uzbekistan, and we hope to see you there soon!

KULSARY, KAZAKHSTAN 2020-10-12

Welcome to Kulsary everyone! We are approximately 300 km away from Uzbekistan. Can we make it there this week?

KAZAKHSTAN 2020-10-07

Finally we've reached Kazakhstan! This is the largest country in Central Asia, but we're not letting that stop us from trying to reach the next country in a cuple of days. Are you keeping up with us on social media? This week on Instagram and Facebook we challenged all participants to collectively try to cross the Russia-Kazakhstan border in a week... and we made it in only three days! We're expecting to reach the Kazakh city Kulsary shortly, so see you there!

VORONEZH, RUSSIA 2020-09-24

Tonight we entered the Russian city Voronezh. Originally founded as a fortress to protect the southern borders, it is now a modern city with over a million inhabitants. We don't have much time to explore Voronezh as we have to keep going towards our next destination, the city Koulsary in Kazakhstan. See you there!

RUSSIA 2020-09-15

Welcome to Russia - the biggest country in the world! We made it through Belarus in just three (!) days, and now we're continuing on through Russia. This is going to be a long one, but with at this rate we are positive we can reach the Russian city of Voronezh shortly.

BELARUS 2020-09-12

Hello Belarus! Did you know that Belarus is supposedly the country with the largest number of treasures hidden in Europe?

JELGAVA, LATVIA 2020-09-08

And we’ve made it to Jelgava. Located about 40 km southwest of the capital Riga, Jelgava is one of the largest ancient cities in Latvia. We have 387 km to our next destination, so keep moving everybody!

LATVIA 2020-09-05

We have now reached our first country, Latvia! The nation is known for being the paradise of eco-tourism and nature lovers, which comes as no surprise since around 50% of Latvia is made up of lush forest. Let's continue our path through the forests of Latvia towards the city Jelgava!

SWEDEN 2020-09-01

We have officially started our journey from the city of Stockholm to Lamjung. We're off to a great start because Facio is sponsoring every single kilometer we walk between Stockholm and Jelgava, Latvia. Thanks to everyone who participated in the kick off event, we have already moved 36 km!
